Eurasian Otters

Ed the Otter

These are the most widespread of all otters, from Ireland to Kamchatka, and from Finland to Morocco.  They are the only otters native to the United Kingdom.  They are the shyest and most solitary of all otters, with males and females only being together for a few days. Young otters stay with their mother for about 18 months before striking out on their own. Their favourite food is eels.
